the berlin mixtapes and pics
2009-05-07 | 1:14 p.m.
as promised in my last entry i would bring you some mixtapes from my trip to berlin...so here you go:
on the bus ride down there:
'quiet houses - fleet foxes
'sons of' - scott walker
'your hans in mine' - explosions in the sky
'strange days' - the doors
in berlin:
'tiergarten' - rufus wainwright
'you really got a hold on me' - she & him (yes, a brilliant beatles cover)
'i love you (in with the arms)' - loney, dear
'teenagers' - department of eagles
'heard them stirring' - fleet foxes
on the bus ride home:
'the meter marks ok' - loney, dear
'cut' - adem
'relay race' - billie the vision and the dancers
tiergarten was an obvious choice...of course. the song simply wouldn't stop playing in my mind everytime i saw the name of the park. but it was sure a nice soundtrack when me and my teachers finally went for a walk in that particular park. one of my teachers heard the song on our way home to denmark, and his statement was: "you must have been floating around constantly down there...huh?!". hehe. and right he was.
here's a few pics from the trip...mostly architecture. you can see all of them in here.
olympia stadion from the outside
the new main trainstation in berlin. it have expanded a great deal since i where there for about 3 years ago...a very clear sign of how much berlin is changing in a very short period of time!
i love the colours in this one. don't remember the name of the church.
charlottenburg castle...i think it was.
this one was painted on a door...
oh..and i went to a museum for music instrument one day...all by myself and stumbled across this huge pretty cool organ amongst a lot of other normal, very old and odd instruments.
this is a very good picture of old and new mixed up if you ask me. past and present.
