"the best organizer we've ever had!"
2007-09-30 | 3:52 p.m.

i've finally got time and peace to sit down and write about this whole event that went on 2 days ago. as you might have noticed, i've been pretty much away the past week, and as i have explained it's due to this huge party we threw down at the student house friday with 4 live acts, 5 dj's, mime theatre, dancers, breakdance work shop, grafitti work shop and what have you.

my main responsibility was to take care of the bands and make sure that everything was fine at the ground floor. it may sound easy, but it wasn't easy at all. first of all 2 of the bands arrived too late. second of all the sound engineer was a psyko demanding me to know everything about everything at the most improper times. then there was a lot of changes in the plans. and one of the bands got lost in kolding. so while i had to get the food (for the second time) for the bands, 1 2 3 4 called me and needed help finding their way to the student house. what a mess. but they eventually found it and settled in while i was busy packing out the delicious food lotte had made for them. carlas had been late as well and that resulted the bands' to be 50 minutes behind the schedule because they were the ones that had the drum kit that all the bands (except tim ten yen) had to use. but ones conflict diamonds finally got on stage i could start relaxing a bit more.

i ran around taking pictures of the gig and went backstage having some food and smoke together with the boys in carlas and 1 2 3 4, changed my clothes and so. really cosy, but of course it didn't last for long. when carlas got on stage one of the drum microphones broke which resulted in a lot of technical issues and the psyko sound engineer to run up on stage pushing the bass player during a number in order to reach the broken microphone and afterwards he came running to me yelling that we needed to get more extras of things to the PA next time we rented one. so i got henrik to check if godset had an extra.

then it was 1 2 3 4's turn to convince the students...but right before their show i had a talk with them and carlas about the lack of people at the ground floor (they where all partying at the first floor), and niels (1 2 3 4) suggested that i got one of the dj's to play one of their songs and tell people to go downstairs and experience them live. so i did. first i ran around trying to search for the music, then i ran back and forward talking to the dj's, giving them the cd and all that. my mission succeeded. when i finally had things in their right place i ran down to the boys realizing they where already ready, so i ran upstairs telling the dj's to play the song now. which they did with a little presentation in the microphone. so perfect. luckily for me jakob had a bottle of champagne in his hand as my throat had gotten really dry from all the running. then i ran downstairs and 1 2 3 4 went on stage while people had gathered in front of the stage. perfect!

during their show i helped carlas building up a shop so they could sell cd's. after 1 2 3 4's show i found a place on the couch in the backstage room and had a well deserved rest. so i missed the first number of tim ten yen's show. but i was really busted. people had now stayed around so it was a bit more crowded than earlier on and people danced around and went crazy.

when the last live act finally got off stage i could finally start relaxing even more...at least i thought. heh. 'cause at this time the musicians started running out of beers and girls started showing up in the backstage rooms, smoking. but i also got time to finally get a talk with tim ten yen (he was staying at siff's and my apartment). what a nice guy. in the middle of our talk, niels interrupted to tell me that i was one the best organizers 1 2 3 4 had ever had. he was serious. it made me really happy to hear that, 'cause i had really done my best to make sure they got all they needed.

then i talked a bit more with tim, who started talking about how he got home to our apartment, 'cause he wasn't feeling well. so i offered him to follow him home. he got very pleased and we went off shortly after. i informed 1 2 3 4 that i'd be right back...they didn't believe in me. haha. dirty minds! it was raining as hell on our walk back to the apartment. we had a nice talk about "the sinister cat", vinyls, my talent of becoming a tour manager or something like it and so. back in the apartment i gave him a glass of water and some mojo magazines and he hugged me goodnight. really cosy and sincere guy!

of course i was soaked when i finally arrived back to the student house where a rave was going on at all three floors and people were standing in the hall ways because they didn't like what the dj's played. i stayed around 'till we closed down the place. fell deeply asleep around 3 am...exhausted. but not the last time i do such thing. maybe not as big an event...but...something like it.
