best gigs of the year
2007-12-12 | 10:27 p.m.

it's the season for greatest hits and top-lists for everything that went about the past year. i'd actually planned to wait with all my top-lists 'till between christmas and new year, where there's too many days off anyway to do anything special. but then today i stumbled across this board (although i don't do that so much more) where you were asked to make a top 5 over the best gigs this year. so after going through my calendar i came up with these:

1. ed harcourt, voxhall 7/12 - it's the best concert i've ever seen with him. indescribable breathtaking!
2. rufus wainwright, musikhuset 5/12 - the second best concert out of the 5 i've ever seen with him. it was simply fantastic...like you forgot time and space.
3. ryan adams, falconer salen 22/11 - again a really great concert. he played all the right songs. and despite of a really rude audience it was a fantastic evening.
4. grizzly bear, roskilde festival - i'd looked so much forward to this one. and it sure lived up to my expectations. i simply love those boys!
5. beirut, roskilde festival - such a great atmosphere! if it had been a sunny weather at that festival (it was the most rainy ever!!), this concert may even have had a better position than number 5.

here's some other concerts worth mentioning:
wolfmother, train 19/2
entakt, kulisselageret 11/5 (must be the band i've seen most times this year. 5)
rufus wainwright, operaen 3/7
speaker bite me, posten 29/9
michael falch & boat man love, godset 23/11

last weeks really cool top 3:
1. ed harcourt
2. rufus wainwright
3. led zeppelin

it's really cool because i saw both ed and rufus live last week. and then because ed and i actually talked about led zeppelin. heh. really funny. at least i think.

today it was siff's birthday. so i've been up early to prepare some breakfast, light candles and write a card for her. i gave her three old danish movies. she liked what i'd did and liked the movies as well. really cosy morning. most of the rest of the morning went with working on my literature list. it's due for tomorrow. then i went to some boring lectures where people totally panicked about the assignment we get handed out tomorrow. i felt like standing up and either walk right out of the door or just scream at the top of my lungs and tell people to fucking relax...it's not like we haven't written any assignments before and it's definitely not like it's the end of the world! even though people would like it to look that way. baaah. siff had already arrived home when i came home. so i started cleaning my room, the kitchen, take out trash, do some laundry and so...before i could relax. siff's family came over for dinner. really lovely family she's got there. we had a great time. and now...here i am with tired dry eyes...
