i read this in the news paper a couple of days ago. it was a review of the whole mtve awards thing going on in copenhagen:
"(..) furthermore it was obvious that the crowd in front of the stage was more like extras in a tv-show than participates in a public rejoicing. with tv-cameras swinging over the head they laughed and clapped their hands almost on command when the mtv-manuscript demanded it.(...)"
i couldn't agree more to the extras thing! i've actually been amongst the audience in a trl show in new york once. it wasn't fun at all. there was this guy running around in front of us telling us what to do all the time whether we liked it or not we were forced to act like we loved christina aguilera or whatever was on the list that week. i gave up in the end and didn't stand up when they told me to. it was worse than the athletics lessons we had back in primary school. seriously. and before we'd been pulled into this freak show we'd walked all around times square in a snowstorm so our energy wasn't up for "mtv-athletics" . but my point with all this is that once again mtv proved how superficial that shitty channel is and how little it has to do with music in general.

i was watching the show on television yesterday and started suspecting mtv to sort of having placed people after looks. i mean...how many boys did you see in the front rows?! and what happened to all the blondes being everywhere?! no offence...but yeah. how typical. but then again...most blondes (especially the wannabes) listen to the so called music they play at this shitty channel. damn i'm generalizing now. i know. and generalizing is one thing i kind of hate doing...but sometimes you just can't avoid generalizing...i guess...
