true friends?
2006-11-17 | 9:23 p.m.

"true friends do not value a friendship with us out of mortal criterias, it is the core itself they are interested in; like the ideal parents their love are unaffected by our looks or position in the social hierarchy and therefore we don't have any scruples going around in old clothes and reveal that we have not earned that many money this year. the desire to wealth should maybe not be understood as a simple longing after a life in luxury, a more important motive could be the desire of being recognized and treated nice."

- epikur / alain de botton

so what is a true friend? when can you call an acquaintance for a friendship? what does it take? if you ask me it depends on the circumstances and the person of course. sometimes you become friends pretty quick, sometimes it takes a while and then there are those who stays in the acquaintance.
funny, when i look up acquaintance in my dictionary, it says it is the same as friends. or that 'it is a person you know well'. so what is the difference?! are there any difference ?!

another subject that has filled my mind lately, is confirmation. it's a thing we all search for more or less. some require less than others. and when we finally get this confirmation in one way or another we often get quiet and don't know what to do with ourself. weird huh? but it's a fact.
