going or not going ?
2008-03-07 | 5:14 p.m.

i've had my first real day off today for ages. hanging around doing just what i've wanted to. it's been needed. so i started out reading the first chapters of this:

blackvinyl

a seemingly great book about the history of the last fifty years of the british music business. in between i checked my mail and discovered that this was at the library waiting for me:

lastofrockromantics

it's no secret that i've kind of studied the libertines lately. and i finished the "bound together" book just the other day...getting even more curious. martin owns this other book 'kids in the riot: high and low with the libertines'. a book filled with different interviews with the band members and people surrounding the band which he's currently reading, but has promised me that i could borrow it as soon as he finishes. so in the meantime i'll read the 'last of the rock romantics' book. it's better be good. i should be studying though. but at least today, my day off i should be doing the things i love. and at the moment, that is reading about and listening to british music. yum yum.

another really cool thing, is that john hassall (the bassist from the libertines) is actually playing a little acoustic set at a caf in rhus on monday. could it be more convenient ?! i'm still in a little doubt about going though, 'cause someone has told me to stay away and that makes me a little nervous about showing up, as i do not want to be the annoying one ruining a great evening for the person concerned and i'm not going to if i show up. not at all. that's just the way i'm going to feel if i go because of this discussion. but what the heck. it IS a public event, so i'm free to show up if i want to. period!

oh...i've been outside as well today, when i had to go and visit nanna. she's lasse's little sister (to those of you readers who wasn't reading this diary back in 2005, lasse is a child i took care of full time back then) whom i'm going to babysit twice a week for the next couple of months. what a lovely little babygirl. laughing and smiling all over. it's going to be some cosy days in her company. i'm looking forward to it.

really lovely things i'm doing in an attempt to flee away from my complicated life huh?! - well at least i'm enjoiyng it, and forgetting all the stressing things...at least for a moment. which is needed.
