top five's
2008-10-17 | 7:17 p.m.

i met this new friend last friday. i think i told you about him. a is his name but i call him pepsi. we've made a tradition the past week making a new top 5 for everyday. very entertaining if you ask me...it was actually me who started in a casual kind of way as i asked him about something random about cover versions vs. original versions...so he made me do a top 5 over the best cover versions (where the cover version is better than the original). it looks like this:

1. mad world - gary jules
2. heartbeats - jos gonzles
3. hallelujah - damien rice
4. mr. tambourine man - the byrds
5. the model - swan lee

i've already changed my mind a bit about the last number. but isn't it always like that with these lists?! so yesterday we made a top 5 with our absolute favourite albums...and mine looked like this:

1. loaded - the velvet underground
2. secrets on parade - tim christensen
3. here be monsters - ed harcourt
4. revolver - the beatles
5. aladdin sane - david bowie

i did that top 5 while having dinner at a pizza place in copenhagen with astrid. so although some of the records would stay in this list next time i'm asked to do one...i can't guarantee that they will have the same positions. again...isn't it always the problem with such lists ?!

by the way i went to copenhagen yesterday all by myself. c was suppose to go with me but she had to work...baah. in the afternoon i went home to d for tea and brownies. a joined us later on. it was really nice seeing them both again. i can't remember when i saw them last time. we had fun. talked about the good old days, nowadays and danced around to abba...haha...yeah! abba! only because t's new boring song is strongly inspired from a certain abba song. anyways...that wasn't the only reason why i went all the way to copenhagen. the last shadow puppets played at vega last night...and of course i went to see them. it was fantastic! they even had their own little symphony orchestra...mmm. see the pic:

when they arrived at the stage me and everybody else except the first 3-4 rows in front was chocked by the screams that went through the air...see the first 3-4 rows primary consisted of young teenage girls...some of them even had their mother by their side...which resulted in a small version of beatlemania. it was pretty funny. i stayed around outside vega about an hour afterwards just to see how the 20-25 waiting hysterical girls reacted when miles kane and alex turner came outside to go inside their busses (mostly because i had to wait two hours for my train home anyways). that was fun. turner was very chatty and at some point jumped at a girl...i saw it in a distance so i really do not know what it was all about but he looked at me when he passed me laughing just as much as me while he was shaking his head. hehe.

here's today's top 5. it's the top 5 of on-the-road-numbers and i've made mine designed to when i'm riding my bicycle as well as when i'm sitting in a train (i actually made it in the train last night):

1. burning - whitest boy alive

2. young folks - peter, bjrn and john

3. new born - muse

4. your hand in mine - explosions in the sky

(the funny thing is, that this video is made with the inspiration from one of my favourite movies...it's not the full lenght son though)

5. daydream - the lovin' spoonful
