start! festival
2009-06-08 | 12:38 a.m.

i went to copenhagen yesterday. had lunch with A. as always nice to see him again (although we saw each other a couple of times during the SPOT festival a couple of weeks ago). afterwards i went to the start! festival all by myself. i had to be a bartender there all afternoon. it was a bit scary at first...but when i first got the hold of it, it was actually quite funny. one of the first guests i had the contact to, was the lead singer of grand avenue i believe (he has a twin brother and i can never tell the difference)...he joked around. i guess he was already drunk by that time...or something.

i saw: c'est tout martin
silhuet
mixtune for cully
messy shelters

when i finally got off around 8PM, i didn't feel like leaving to be around on my own. but when i finally did, i was too busy to even notice that i was there on my own. because i ran into and the rest of his band and talked about when they'd left kolding last time without saying good bye and so. i also met a new guy called J from the band kings of dark disco. nice guy. afterwards i ran over to see mrk and the liberty balance.

the liberty balance was as brilliant as i'd hoped for, and they played for so long that i had to leave at last in order to check up with the bar-manager about the extra shift i'd promised to take around 10:30PM, have another beer and go watch ginger ninja before checking out det sejler i effekter. but i never got to see det sejler i effekter, as the liberty balance had made sure that they were late...so instead i ran into J and M from the liberty balance and talked and joked a bit around. i complained that their album hadn't been released on vinyl and was sent right over to their chief execute N, and complain to him...that ended out in a long talk about record business and what have we. very interesting. he told me that i was the right person for the music scene in copenhagen. fresh blood.

he ended up giving me the liberty balance record and a card before he disappeared and J and M stood back and laughed at him. hehe. i realised i'd stayed too long over there, so said a quick good bye to J and ran over to the bar and jumped right into serving people again as i'd never done anything else. at 11:15PM i said good bye to my dear colleagues in the bar in order to go over to the backstage bar and have a well deserved beer or two.

there i ran into T. very surprising. but a very nice surprise. we had a little chat...catching up. i also ran into L, N, M and all the guys from turboweekend. had a smoke with all of them outside and when T and M left, i started talking with N about my future opportunities and koldinghus. a very long and funny talk. hehe. i've known for years who he was...and finally we got to talk. after that i was left all alone...just like it all started that afternoon. it was around midnight and i didn't feel like seeing anymore music. i had one more beer and went with the train home.

now i'm sitting at the university...it's 1:04AM. and i think i'm all alone. a bit scary to think of when it is in fact an old hospital. uuuuh. but i manage with lots of lights and music. concentrating on my assignment. i'm half way through. wohooo!
